The Seattle Public Library will host programs at several farmers markets and events throughout the city in September. The programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required.      


Author Hsiao-Ching Chou Cooks - Local author Hsiao-Ching Chou demonstrates a fresh vegetable recipe from her cookbook, "Chinese Soul Food: A Friendly Guide to Homemade Dumplings, Stir-Fries, Soups & More."

Author Cynthia Nims Cooks - Come meet local author, chef, and teacher, Cynthia Nims as she cooks a selection of seasonal produce and other market products to showcase a vibrant Green Goddess Crab Salad at the West Seattle Farmers Market.

Lake City Farmers Market - Join Lake City Branch staff for stories, crafts, STEM activities, artistic performances, cultural celebrations and library material checkouts.

African Drumming - Join Lake City Future First and the Lake City Branch for music at the market. Etienne Cakpo of Gansango will lead the audience in learning to drum using African drums.

Chinatown I.D. Night Market - The Library's Books on Bikes team will be at the Chinatown-International District Night Market as a full-service library
