Seismic Retrofit Project
The Seattle Public Library Green Lake Branch, one of the Library’s historic Carnegie buildings, will be renovated with structural improvements (a seismic retrofit) to ensure the safety of patrons and staff in case of an earthquake. Construction will begin in October 2022 and is expected to be fully completed by June 2023.
Plan a hiking, camping, biking, fishing or other outdoor trip this summer. We have free guide books, maps and other resources available for check out.

About the Green Lake Branch
The current Green Lake Branch was renovated and reopened March 6, 2004. Tall ceilings contribute to a sense of spaciousness and rich detailing and use of wood throughout the interior adds to the warm, historic feel of the branch.
