The Helix was Seattle's first underground newspaper and was published from March 1967 to June 1970. The contents are representative of the late 1960s counterculture covering events such as police misconduct and brutality, riots in American cities, assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and others, the Vietnam War, Native American fishing rights and more.
