Drop by the Central Library and peruse thousands of zines, minicomics, and other self-published and small press periodicals in the Zine Archive & Publishing Project (ZAPP) collection. The collection is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 7, former Aviation Room, 206-386-4636.

Library events are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Parking is available at the regular rates.

"The collection is not only a really valuable documentation of our past, but an inspiration for Seattle writers, artists and self-publishers," said librarian and former ZAPP volunteer Abby Bass.

About the Collection

ZAPP was a volunteer-run organization dedicated to preserving and promoting self-publishing in Seattle and beyond. Originally part of Richard Hugo House, ZAPP collected and maintained a library of over 30,000 zines, minicomics and other self-published and small press titles. Richard Hugo House donated this collection to the Library in August 2017.

The Library believes that the power of knowledge improves people's lives. We promote literacy and a love of reading as we bring people, information and ideas together to enrich lives and build community.
