Entrepreneurs of all ages are invited to attend a "Your Business - Operate Smart" workshop on the ins and outs of running a business from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7 at the Delridge Branch, 5423 Delridge Way S.W., 206-733-9125 .

Library events are free and open to the public. Seating is limited and registration is recommended. Parking is available in the branch parking lot.

At the "Your Business - Operate Smart" workshop, attendees will learn how to operate a business. Key points to the workshop will include:

choosing vendors, investors, stakeholders and advisors
credit and collections
hiring, firing and employment law
timely tax reporting sales and Washington state's B&O tax
correct registrations and licensing
distribution channels
banking relationships
preparing, reading and interpreting financial statements
