'Southwest Stories': Monthly History Series at The Seattle Public Library in May & June

Join The Seattle Public Library for a monthly lecture series featuring presentations on the history of West Seattle, the Duwamish Peninsula and the birthplace of Seattle.
Library programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Lectures will take place on the third Sunday of the month at alternating Library locations in West Seattle. Free parking is available at each of the lecture locations.
Times, dates, topics and locations for the lectures are as follows.
2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21 the Delridge Branch, 5423 Delridge Way S.W., 206-733-9125 . Join Mike Bergman, president of the Tacoma chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, who will discuss "Streetcar Suburbs: The Highland Park and Lake Burien Railroad."
2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 18 at the Southwest Branch, 9010 35th Ave. S.W., 206-684-7455 . Join Harriet Baskas, a Seattle-based freelance journalist, who will discuss "The Ancient Fruitcake: What Really, Really Old Food Tells Us."
