The Seattle Public Library will present monthly discussion groups for seniors at two locations in September.

Library events and programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Brown bag lunches are welcome.

MEETING SCHEDULE

Noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 at the Southwest Branch, 9010 35th Ave. S.W., 206-684-7455 . This month will be poetry writing with former city poet Claudia Castro Luna. This meeting is presented in partnership with Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action (PSARA).
 
Noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14 at The Bridge at Village Cove, 6850 Woodlawn Ave. N.E., Suite B. This month's topic will be "Cuba: the Land of Contrasts" with four presenters.

Hot Topics for Seniors is a place to discuss current national, state and local issues. The groups select topics, which may include issues such as education, health care, benefit programs, hospice, palliative care, immigration, gun control, transportation or housing.
