Celebrate Día de los Muertos With The Seattle Public Library in October

The Seattle Public Library invites children, teens and adults to learn about and celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dcead) by making crafts at the Library this month.

Paper Skull Mask Making / Elaboración de máscaras de calaveras de papel - 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the South Park Branch, 8604 Eighth Ave. S., 206-615-1688. Join artist Jose Orantes to color and decorate your own 3-D paper skull mask! For children 5 and up. / Venga a colorear y decorar su propia máscara de calavera de papel 3-D con el artista José Orantes. Para edades desde 5 años.
Milagro Box with Amaranta Sandys - 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the South Park Branch, 8604 Eighth Ave. S., 206-615-1688. We will explore a variety of mixed media techniques to create a milagro box, including papel picado and handmade flowers. / Exploraremos una variedad de técnicas mixtas para crear un milagro, que incluye papel picado y flores hechas a mano.

Join us as we explore the history of Día de Muertos and explore the variety of ways it’s celebrated around the world.
