Best-selling romance author Julia Quinn will read from her latest book "The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband" from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 22 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636 .

Library events are free and open to the public. Tickets and registration are not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $6 after 5 p.m.

In "The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband," a woman stretches the truth a bit when she claims to be married to an unconscious soldier in the Revolutionary War, who happens to be her brother's best friend. But when the truth comes out, her "husband" may have a few surprises of his own in store.

Quinn is the New York Times best-selling author of 25 novels for Avon Books, and one of only 16 authors to be inducted into the Romance Writers of America's Hall of Fame. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family.
