The Seattle Public Library, in partnership with the BetterInvesting Puget Sound Chapter, will host a seminar on investing to gain financial independence and plan for retirement from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Howard S. Library events and programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $7.

This presentation will include a general overview of the different ways to invest during your working years, how to set up an investment plan that you can use throughout your life, and how to maximize your investment returns without the use of a financial broker or adviser.
