'Frame by Frame:' Exhibit Celebrating Northwest Art and Artists at The Seattle Public Library Feb. 6 to March 26

Opening today, The Seattle Public Library will host the exhibit Frame by Frame: Celebrating Northwest Art and Artists. Visit the exhibit during open hours from Feb. 6 through March 26 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 8 Gallery.
For over 100 years, the Library has collected artworks by Northwest artists that can be seen in the Central Library and in branch libraries. Containing works by such noted artists as Guy Anderson, Paul Horiuchi, James W. Washington, Jr. and Doris Totten Chase, the Library's Northwest Arts Collection is a testament to the persistence of the significant presence of the arts in this region.

Opening Night for Frame by Frame: Celebrating Northwest Art and Artists - 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 8, Books Spiral Gallery, 206-386-4636. Join us for an opening night fête in honor the Frame by Frame: Celebrating Northwest Art and Artists exhibit, featuring the work of artists from the Northwest School, also known as the “Mystic Painters of the Northwest".
In Focus: The Works of George Tsutakawa and Deborah Faye Lawrence – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636. Hear Mayumi Tsutakawa talk about her father, George Tsutakawa's visual legacy and Susan Noyes Platt discuss Deborah Faye Lawrence's collage works.
In Focus: Northwest Artists and Printmakers - 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Washington Mutual Foundation Meeting Room 1, 206-386-4636. Curator David F. Martin discusses the lives and works of Northwest artists and printmakers.
