Are you an entrepreneur who wants to start a food industry business? You can meet face-to-face with government agencies and other food specific resources at a Food Business Roadshow business fair from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Washington Mutual Foundation Meeting Room 1, 206-386-4636.

Library events are free and open to the public. Registration is recommended, but not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates.

If you are wondering about the requirements and regulations for your food business or wanting to learn more about selecting a location or curious about other resources available for your food business, bring your questions to this roadshow!

Representatives from the government agencies that process and issue permits, licenses and other food specific resources will answer your questions, as well as:

  • Explain requirements and regulations for a food business.
  • Give tips on selecting a location.
  • Provide resources available for established or new food businesses.

Agencies and service providers will include: Public Health — Seattle & King County, Seattle Office of Labor Standards, Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections, Seattle Public Utilities, Washington State Department of Agriculture, Ventures Nonprofit, Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship, Ethnic Business Coalition, Washington Restaurant Association and more.

The Library gives everyone the opportunity to learn and excel. Entrepreneurs can get business support online, and in-person help is available at workshops and one-on-one appointments.
