The Seattle Public Library will host a virtual edition of Legendary Children, an evening of representation, dance, empowerment, art and social justice that celebrates queer and transgender people of color from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.

Legendary Children will have live performances and DJs, alongside the artistry of Pacific Northwest house-and-ball performers and premier drag royalty (kings, queens and all the crowns in between). The Library will also have a digital reading available list focused on trans and queer Black, Indigenous and People Of Color (BIPOC) authors.

This event is free and everyone is welcome. Registration in the Library's calendar for the live audience, as well as streaming links for Facebook and YouTube, will be available closer to the date of the event.

This event is made possible by The Seattle Public Library Foundation. It is presented in partnership with Seattle Art Museum and community partners.

The Library's dynamic approach to building community that enriches lives includes programming that brings people, information and ideas together to respect and embrace the well-being of the people we serve. We celebrate Seattle’s many cultures by forming strong partnerships with community organizations to offer art that is accessible to all.

On Oct. 6, Gov. Jay Inslee announced that public libraries may allow some indoor service at 25 percent capacity in Phase 2 of his Safe Start reopening plan. The Seattle Public Library is assessing the new reopening requirements with current planning efforts to expand services. The safety of our patrons and staff is our top priority. More details will be announced soon at the Library’s Road to Reopening page.

The Seattle Public Library also has many free online services, resources and programs available while its physical buildings remain closed. You can find out more on our digital resources page or by contacting the Library by phone at 206-386-4636. Staff are ready to answer questions and direct you to helpful resources and information during this challenging time.
