Thanks to Seattle voters' support of the 2019 Library Levy Renewal, all of The Seattle Public Library's locations will be open an additional hour on Sundays beginning Jan. 5, 2020.  Library branches will be open from noon to 5 p.m., and the Central Library will be open from noon to 6 p.m.

“At community meetings and through patron surveys, we heard that Sunday hours were important,” Chief Librarian Marcellus Turner said. “Particularly for families, working people and students, having Library service available in every neighborhood on Sunday will be a huge benefit.”

Additional hours at Library branches, which are also part of the 2019 Library Levy Renewal, will be added in summer 2020.

The Library believes that the power of knowledge improves people's lives. We promote literacy and a love of reading as we bring people, information and ideas together to enrich lives and build community.
