Discuss Samoan Culture at The Seattle Public Library's Arts Gumbo Book Chat on Oct. 17

You're invited to read along with the 2019 Arts Gumbo Book Chat, an annual community book group. This year the group will read and discuss "Where We Once Belonged" by Sia Figiel, a coming of age story about the clash between Samoan and Western culture, from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Columbia Branch, 4721 Rainier Ave. S., 206-386-1908.
Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Copies of the book are available at the Columbia Branch.

Each fall, Arts Gumbo presents the sights, sounds and flavors of world cultures during October and November. The program features local and regional performers from diverse cultures, as well as cultural dinners and audience participation events.
