The Seattle Public Library to Host 'Design Lecture Series' on March 10; Tickets Available Feb. 9

The Seattle Public Library is hosting a series of lectures on design in 2016-2017. The third lecture in the series will feature graphic designer, art director and illustrator Jessica Walsh from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 10at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636.
Library events are free and open to the public. Seating is limited and registration is required. Tickets will be available at noon on Thursday, Feb. 9 at http://www.designlectur.es/. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $6 after 5 p.m.
Walsh's work is a blend of photography, handcraft and painting; her style has been called "bold, emotional and provocative." Her social experiment and book "40 Days of Dating" is being turned into a movie. Her most recent project, "12 Kinds of Kindness," was a 12-step experiment designed to open hearts, eyes and minds.
As a partner at Sagmeister & Walsh, Walsh works for clients such as Jay-Z, Barneys, The New York Times, Levi's and The Museum of Modern Art, among many others. Her work has won major design awards and has been featured in numerous books, galleries, museums and magazines worldwide. She has received numerous distinctions, including Forbes Magazine's list of "30 under 30 top creatives designing the future."
These lectures are part of local design firm Civilization's free public lecture series featuring highly-regarded visual and graphic designers. The series provides an opportunity to bring industry professionals together for a lecture, Q&A and networking.
