Concerts, Previews and Performances at The Seattle Public Library in May

The Seattle Public Library will host concerts, musical preview lectures and dramatic performances at several locations throughout the city in May.
SCHEDULE
Ladies Musical Club – Noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 8 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636. Join us for a concert featuring Baroque piano music and music for viola and piano by Faure, Carter & Glazunov. Performers will include: Karin McCullough and Grace Huang, piano; and Yi Zhou, viola.
Ladies Musical Club – 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 12 at the West Seattle Branch, 2306 42nd Ave. S.W., 206-684-7444. Join us for a concert featuring music Brahms, Bellini and Rossini. Performers will include: Ann Rackl, violin; Lawrence Chu (guest artist), cello; Selina Chu, piano; Molly Tomlinson, soprano;
5th Avenue Theatre – 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 20 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636. Join us for an evening discussion about a classic musical, "A Place for Us: a Celebration of West Side Story." Through musical performances and interviews with community leaders, students, and artists, we will reflect on the impact this piece has had throughout history and explore how its call for love and social justice continues to echo in our own communities and neighborhoods.
