Author Readings Presented by The Seattle Public Library in June

The Seattle Public Library will feature writers and their work at several locations throughout Seattle in June.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Eric Wagner - 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14 at the Southwest Branch, 9010 35th Ave. S.W., 206-684-7455. Wagner discuss his new book, “Penguins in the Desert,” about the largest penguin colony in the world outside of Antarctica. This program is part of the Words, Writers and West Seattle author series, which features writers connected to the Duwamish Peninsula.
Ben Rhodes - 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 27 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636. Rhodes discusses his new book, "The World As It Is." From one of Barack Obama's closest aides comes a revelatory behind-the-scenes account of his presidency—and how idealism can confront harsh reality and still survive.
Robin DiAngelo - 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636. DiAngelo, an antiracist educator and lecturer at the University of Washington, will be reading from "White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism." She addresses fundamental questions: How does white fragility develop? What does it look like? How is it triggered? How does it function? How can white people develop their capacity to engage more constructively across race?
