The Seattle Public Library will host an opera preview lecture, film screening and concert at Library locations throughout the city in July.

SCHEDULE

Seattle Opera – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 at the Northeast Branch, 6801 35th Ave. N.E., 206-684-7539. Join Theodore Deacon for an entertaining preview lecture of "Rigoletto." Verdi runs his audience through an emotional gamut in true operatic fashion with a tense and brutal tale of a megalomaniac’s bitter minion caught in a web of lechery, betrayal and revenge.

Harry and the Potters – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 19 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636. Join us for a free, all-ages rock concert with wizard rock legends Harry and the Potters!

Movies at Central 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 30 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Howard S. Wright Family & Janet W. Ketcham Meeting Room 2, 206-386-4636. The Central Library presents a screening of the film "Dina - A Real Life Unconventional Romantic Comedy." In the 2017 Sundance and IDA award-winning film, Dina, an eccentric and outspoken 49-year-old in suburban Philadelphia, invites her fiance Scott, a Walmart door greeter, to move in with her. Having grown up neurologically diverse in a world blind to the value of their experience, the two are head-over-heels for one another, but shacking up poses a new challenge.
