The Central Library and all branches of The Seattle Public Library will have a delayed opening of 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, to allow for a half-day of staff in-service. All Library locations will also close at 6 p.m. on that day, which affects 10 branches that would normally be open until 8 p.m.: the Ballard, Beacon Hill, Broadview, Douglass-Truth, Greenwood, Lake City, Northgate, Rainier Beach, Southwest and West Seattle branches.

Library chat and phone service will also only be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 13.

All book drops will remain open. All Library parking garages will be closed during those hours, except for the garages at the Central Library and at the Ballard and Lake City branches.

The Library’s regular operating hours will resume on Friday, Oct. 14. Find operating hours for all Library locations at www.spl.org/Hours.

As a reminder, the Library will also be closed on Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. You can find a list of all Library holidays and closures at this Library website page
